Energy Certification

Domusplus - Energetsko Certificiranje Energy Performance Certificate has been recently introduced into the Croatian legislation as an important indicator of energy efficiency, i.e. energy consumption in buildings. Pursuant to the Regulations on the Energy Certification of Buildings (Official Gazette no. 36/10) all buildings for which the request for obtaining building documentation has been submitted after 31st March 2010 must have energy performance certificate. Energy performance certificate indicates the total annual consumption of energy for the heating of your house, per m2 of floor area, and provides figurative presentation of energy class of your house (from A to G). Energy performance certificate may be issued by authorised persons only. Investor is obligated to submit the energy performance certificate for buildings of gross floor area up to 400m2 to a body that issued a Certificate on Compliance With the Building Code Requirements, together with the final report by a supervising engineer. Thus, without an energy performance certificate it is not possible to obtain a Decision on Building Occupancy, register the building with the Cadastre or enter the building into the land register.

Low-energy houses are classified as A + to B, i.e. with maximum energy consumption for heating amounting to 50 kWh/m2 of floor area. For example, most old buildings in Croatia consume around 250kWh of energy for heating per m2 of floor area.

The Regulations on the Conditions and Standards Regarding Persons Conducting Energy Audits and Certification of Buildings (Official Gazette 113/08) prescribe the conditions to be met by legal and physical persons to become authorized for conducting energy audits of buildings and energy performance certification.

Our designers have successfully completed the training programme, passed the final examination, and become authorized to conduct energy performance certification. In addition, DOMUSplus is authorized, as a legal person to conduct energy audits and energy performance certification of buildings with simple and complex technical systems.

The Croatian Association of Energy Auditors (HUEC) was registered with the City Office for General Administration in Zagreb.
It was established with the aim to promote, develop and improve energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in the Republic of Croatia through the development, promotion and education about energy audits and energy performance certification in building construction and wider.
In order to actively participate in the promotion of energy efficiency, DOMUSplus has become a member of the Croatian Association of Energy Auditors.

It is our contribution to the promotion and improvement of the quality of work in the area of energy audits and energy performance certification, to increasing energy efficiency and using renewable energy sources.
